…The Fresh Heir Dance Collective!!!
It’s incredibly exciting to start this project but before I get ahead of myself, let me clarify somethings.
Fresh Heir Dance Collective is not just a cool name. We are not a crew or a company. The primary difference is that crews and companies and dance troupes are based in one location (or have several locations) and you must go to a certain physical location to be part of the group.
This is not the case for Fresh Heir.
We are an online dance community. That means that the way we connect to the rest of the collective is through digital means (i.e. Social media, text, email, video, etc.). Because technology is what connects us, you can be anywhere in the world and have fellow members in different cities, states, and countries. Community is also a key phrase of “online dance community” because that is the heart of Fresh Heir.
Community means giving what you have and getting what you need. As a dance collective, we are sharing our dance journey with people around the world who are interested in us succeeding. We are trading knowledge, support, and feedback to improve and spark ideas for future projects. Fresh Heir is the digital dance fam that is our support 24/7.
For right now, our main focus is building the community because you don’t just snap your fingers and people are friends. It takes time. Once we have grown together and connected to one another, we will move onto creating choreography when events come up. Then, sharing ideas for our own events. Then, cultivating a worldwide community that is as diverse and organic as the people who make it up.
Long term goals for the Fresh Heir Dance Collective include providing a way for members who are in close regions come together, yearly meetings where all the members come together to host a workshop, and tapping into the other talents of the members (photography, modeling, songwriting, cinematography etc.) to start other projects.
