There are many principles that I stand for as an artist and the visionary behind BeatHunter Dance. One that is very close to my heart is searching and being true to yourself. I wish with all my heart that every dancer could understand how precious their identity is.

Instead, I see dancers suppress who they are. They believe that blending into the crowd is so much easier than being themselves and you know what? They're right.

Being yourself is hard.

It's a risky business to pull yourself away from the comfort of the status quo and light your own path. People will questions you when you have no idea where you are going. It takes patience, integrity, and tenacity just to find out which attributes are yours and which aren't to find yourself. There will be days that you'll question whether you're even heading in the right direction. Sometimes you will fail.

But take a moment within the next day or two. Turn off your phone, find a place to be by yourself, and listen. If you hear even the smallest hint of a voice. Follow it. It's your identity telling you what direction to go in.

If you are striving to stay true to who you are as a dancer, I applaud you. The path you are on is not easy, so know that someone recognizes your struggle and is in your corner to support you. Because no matter how hard it is, even your worst day will be better than the best day of someone striving to be someone else.
