The Body - Part 2

The Body Is not a weapon.

September 15, 2020

Most view the world through a dim, flickering light; insecurity is the name of the torch. In the distorting light of insecurity, we view the body as a letter grade - as a pass or fail.

We are either propelled by fear to get a good letter grade and chase after an unattainable goal. Or we create a bubble of self-hate, assuming we are going to fail no matter what.

How do you reassure yourself that you passed a test that has no right answer? You make everyone else feel like they failed. You don't need to change your perspective - or gain selfworth - if you can make everyone else feel more insecure than you.

Instead, we need to view our body as a garden. It needs to be maintained and kept healthy. Alternating between watering and resting, we can appreciate the pace at which each plant grows.
