Dance Fam - Part 3

· Education,Dance,family

Mutual Adoption

When a family adopts a child, and they are old enough to understand what is going on, both parties - the family and the child - have to meld their already existing identities together.

A dance family isn't just one group of people, it is several groups of people that you are apart of simultaeously. When you adopt someone into your dance family, they are mutually adopting you into their dance family.

We should go out of our way to find people who aren't like us and include them into our dance family. It gives us an opportunity to expand what we already know and what we think about dance.

Family is about choosing to learn from, work with, and love each other.
